How this cartridge works
The structure of this cartridge will force the water to pass two down through the cartridge and increase the period during which the water will be brought into contact with the activated carbon. Because of its porous structure, it is an excellent filtering material. Contaminants in the water flowing through the activated carbon layer are captured (adsorbed) in the pores and the result is clean, toxin-free water.
Silver acts on micro-organisms in several ways:
- It damages cell membranes, causing cell degradation
- It damages DNA, preventing it from reproducing
- It binds to enzymes, disrupting metabolic processes
- It binds to ribosomes, preventing protein synthesis
